ROMA - The Road to Contemporary Art
MACRO Testaccio
Type: Manifestation

The fourth edition of ROMA – The Road to Contemporary Art is returning - from May 6th through 8th 2011 - for the second time to the unique venue of Macro Testaccio, hosted in the space of over 8.000 square meters and articulated into three pavilions - two of MACRO Future and the Pelanda.
The Fair is hosting 76 Italian and foreign galleries in Main Section, Startup (which is reserved to 17 young galleries, born after 2006, presenting a maximum of three artists each and curated by Luca Cerizza) and Fuori misura (the third section, set up in the "open air" in the wide spaces outside the pavilions, which will present 17 between large-sized works and performances developed by both famous and emerging artists). This year's novelty within the Fair is Collectors’ choice, i.e. the section which will host 4 galleries invited to ROMA by the collectors who are members of the Committee (and who are kept anonymous for privacy reasons).

KALEIDOSCOPE Arena
Furthermore, the Fair will develop a set of meetings, performances and events organized in cooperation with magazine KALEIDOSCOPE.
A great pavilion devised and designed by artist Andrea Sala in cooperation with architect Beatrice Borasi, located in the courtyard of MACRO Testaccio shall host three days dedicated to three significant cities in the contemporary artistic panorama such as Los Angeles, Paris and Rome. Each town shall be dedicated an intensive day of meetings, performances, musical events and video projections involving artists, curators, critics and museum directors who represent each of the cities and are invited to Rome to meet with their colleagues by this occasion.

ROMA. RADIO. ART. FAIR.
Also this year, the Fair can be followed as well through the live broadcasting of ROMA. RADIO. ART. FAIR., which is the first web radio platform of a contemporary art fair and multi-media network of inter-disciplinary experimentation and will follow the activities of all the days up to May 30th. The programming of ROMA. RADIO. ART. FAIR - under the direction of Ilari Valbonesi - will include a rich schedule dedicated to the visual and sonic arts in web streaming 24 hours a day on the www.romaradioartfair.it website: concerts and events of the program, interviews to artists, gallery and museum directors, author's audio guides, musical selections and various sound landscapes.
